Disable DSL hardware detection

Hello, I have a dual boot system (win2k pro & win98 SE) with DSL just installed. The problem is that the vendor (AOL) doesn't have DSL Browser software ready for Win2k yet. I uninstall my DSL drivers and set the things up in Win98. Now, I'm left with a problem. Every time I boot into Win2k, it detects the new DSL hardware and wants to search for drivers. How do I disable this temporally until AOL's DSL browser software is ready for win2k, without disabling my ability to connect from win2k via my modem. Do I just install the DSL modems drivers and forget about them for now, or can I set things up in the hardware detection part of Win2k to ignore for now any DSL hardware installed on my USB port, and how would I go about doing that? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
