The only protocol you need bound to the NIC that is connecting to the internet
is TCP/IP. For the second NIC, the one that is connected to your internal LAN you
can use NetBEUI (so the internal LAN NIC will have both NetBEUI and TCP/IP bound
to it). Your 2nd NIC will likely end up with the following IP address in the TCP/IP
settings: 192.168.0.1 with a default subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (that's what ICS
will assign to it, or at least, it did on my PC) However, after several tries at
getting ICS to run with little or no success I went back to Sygate which I
know works (I've used it for several years now) as my proxy server software. Once
you've had enough frustration with MS's ICS program (which has never worked very
well) I suggest you do a quick search on the web for Sygate and download a demo copy
of their home proxy server software. It's easy to install, configure and use.
