I second that, I tried the ICS with a second nic..it did not work out for me and
I tried to tweak all and I guess I didn't know what I was doing since it did not
work.
In any event, I have a peer to peer setup between 3 systems, and use Sygate to share
the internet connection on dsl. Its works, and was very easy to setup, just install
the Software on one pc to be the Server, while the others are installed as clients.
The only configuration that has to be done is on the Server installation. Once
set, it works perfectly.
One caveat, using sygate instead of a router results in the shared connection not
being as fast as it might when sharing the internet connection through a router,
so consider that. If you have the money to afford it, a router is better way to go.
But for the cheapest and easiest way to share a connection, Sygate is not bad.
I heard Wingate is also another app that works similarly, however have not tried
it myself yet.
Have a good one!
