dang, i have NT installed on 3 machines here and "server" acts the same on all machines. it doesn't start at bootup, but in the control panel it is listed, but when launched, it tries to launch it, but says something like "not enough memory" and doesnt do it. I don't remember changing anything that would not let "server" run, but as you said, it might be a corrupt file. the 3 machines were installed from the same CD, so that might explain why all of them dont work. I'll give it a try and install server with another CD when i can get my hands on one. thanks jake

Is the service set to run automatically at boot up? If not set it to do so and
