Question about 'Get Rid of the My Computer Icon' Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 5:05 am Windows 2000 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by daidaikan (1 messages posted) The solution is even more "half assed" than I had expected - it does not only do away with the "My computer" icon on the desktop but in all places where it usually appears, i.e. the Explorer or some of the fancier open file dialog boxes where there is now (in Win 2000/XP) this new icon list on the left hand side. Any way to actually remove the icon just from the desktop?
