apparently the forum ignores line breaks. sorry for the messy post. go into the control panel and choose "sounds and multimedia." locate the item labeled "start navigation" (which refers to opening folders and activating http links), click the dropdown menu, and choose "none." no sound will be associated with clicking links and folders now =)
