Well, if you are sure its connected properly... It could be that the IDE controller
driver is not installed or maybe it can't find an irq address for itself. If you
get a registry error, there is something wrong with windows somewhere and loading
windows on top of your current windows still may not help. If you have like a recovery
disk from Dell, try to use that, it should have a generic cdrom driver with it so
it should work... wipe everything off the drive and start over (if you are comfortable
with that and have all nessicary drivers/programs) I'm thinking that for some reason
its not picking up the IDE controller driver... go look in the device manager...
right click on my computer and go to properties, then device manager, and make sure
there are no devices with a yellow exclamation mark beside it or a red x.... did
you do anything recently? like an upgrade or somethin? =)
