Question about 'Why can't I get the Direct-Cable Connection to work?'

I have a question about connecting between a computer on WIN95 (The guest) and one
on WIN2000 (The host) using a Windows Direct Cable Connection using a Belkin Autoswitch.
The LPT connection is made satisfactorily and then I get the message on the guest
computer that it "Can't find the host computer". From all I can tell I have setup
the software on both computers correctly. I was asked the name of the host computer
and entered the name listed for it under "devices" in the "My Computer" menu. Does
anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem?
