I HAVE THE ANSWER TO
 Customize
Drive Icons:

I couldn't seem to get the autorun.inf to display the drive icons I had made for Windows 2000. I wasn't about to give up easily, so I set out to find the answer. After a lot of hacking in the registry and eventually resorting to Microsoft's online articles (ARGGH!) I stumbled across this: Microsoft Article.

This article had the answer, but (as with everything else with Microsoft) it was backwards. They had directions specifically for Windows 2000 that didn't work, and the directions for every other Windows OS were the ones that worked. (You can read the article if you don't believe me). This is how you change the Drive Icons in Windows 2000:

1.Open Regedit 2.Edit the following key to change the drive letter on drive E: to be the icon named 2000.ico in the root of the E: drive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer DriveIcons E DefaultIcon (Default) = e:\2000.ico You may repeat this for as many hard drives on your system as you like. Contrary to their instructions, this actually works and nothing else I have tried does. Good Luck!
