although some people have had some luck with the whole "desktop sharing / netmeeting" thing, i cant even find something close to "desktop sharing" anywhere on my computer... still, i fixed my problem... the only thing i did was uninstall norton systemworks... i thought i had disabled all of it, but apparently, much of it will still run at all times, regardless of whether you want it to or not... anyways, after uninstalling it and rebooting, everything looked perfect... not to mention the fact that all the graphical errors i had with my computer games in direct3d mode went away immediately, too...
