I have the same problem....NOW.
It WAS working fine before!
It's more than just an IDE issue...I have a Plextor USB CD-RW that is having the
same issue as the IDE CD-ROM drive...same stupid error in Device Manager.
I think MS has to get involved. Does anyone recollect a correlation between getting
a windows update and their cdrom drive dying? Because I used the CD-rom soon after
windows install...but then I updated windows, and maybe that killed it?
Anyway, I am thoroughly aggravated.
Please email me if someone finds a fix!
thanks
