The problems you both are experiencing are due to (I think) you placing them in Windows
2000's start up folder.
i.e. c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs\startup.
MS Office 2k programs have their own seperate startup folder. You have a different
one for each. For example, here is a path that would be used by Word, with %username%
replaced by the username of the person who is logged in:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
However, this can be placed anywhere.
As the original message points out - Open word > Click "Tools" > "Options" > click
tab "File Locations" and look across from "startup". The location is there
(you may have to select startup then click on "modify" to see or edit the entry.
