I've had a similar problem but the solution was simple. I run a win98 machine that
you log into at start up (give user name and password). You have to change the default
desktops options in some cases for it to have effect on the user desktops. Just
hit cancel instead of ok when logging into windows to change the use all colors possible
option in display/effects. It seems like it's an unlikey problem for anyone else
but just incase I thought I might share.
