I tried every "fix" to this problem I could find (I was one who had to uninstall
BitWare, edit BitWare from the registry and everything). I tried clearing out the
Windows/System32/spool/printer directory, replacing spoolsv.exe, and all that. No
help.
What finally worked was the answer I found at
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/Win2000/Q_20327599.html
which says, in part,
"SIMPLY DELETE THE FOLLOWING REGISTRY KEY!:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT
x86\Drivers\Version-2]"
This is what worked for me.
