I used to have SBC's DSL service but now I'm currently using Roadrunner Cable Internet
access. In both situations I've managed to share my Internet connection by installing
Windows 2000 Pro on both computers, and also installing a PPPoE protocol from the
internet. I don't know if installing that protocol was necessary but it's one of
the steps I tried when attempting to share the net when I had DSL.
You can call that new 1411 Directory Assisstance company at (800) GET-1411 and they
can tell you where to download the PPPoE Protocol and how to configure your 2 computers
with ipconfig.
