good boy! solved my problem too!
i unticked "extend desktop...", set icons to low-colour, apply, set icons to high-colour,
apply, reticked "extend desktop..."
and all is beautiful again. i was going to scream if i had to look at my mozilla
icons all grey and gross.
what a leap of logic you made.
