Philip, I've been following this post with curiosity. Hard to believe that it's over a year old! I'm wondering just what useful information QuickView can provide to a non-programmer like myself. I frequently open exe's in QuickView in hopes of learning something about it but I don't know what I'm looking for! Can you give me any suggestions or is this a subject that is too complicated to overview briefly? For example, I recently tried to figure out what GMT.exe was doing on my computer.I didn't install it and noone in my family admitted to installing it, and yet I knew it was "running" because I would spot a listing in my Task Manager (Windows 98 (notSE)) from time to time. QuickView displayed it as a Windows Executable 32 bit for Windows 95 and NT and then provided Technical File Information- Image File Header, Image Optional Header, and Header Information that had no practical value to me. I'm wondering if there is something useful in all that for me or if this stuff is useful only to someone intending to work with the "code" of the application. You won't hurt my feelings if you post back and tell me it is too complicated a topic for this post and is best suited for sophisticates who know programming. At least I'll know enough to turn it off and save a few MBs! Thanks for your thoughts.
