You need to add/edit the FILES=? and/or BUFFERS=? entry in config.nt (located in systemroot\System32). For detailed instuctions, go to START > HELP and under the Index tab search for config.nt. FYI, each file uses 48k of RAM so, Microsoft recommends keeping the number as low as possible.
