Problems with an AVI movie file

I'm having trouble getting an AVI movie that I downloaded from Kazaa to work on my version of Windows Media Player (the latest one - version 9 I think). I am running Windows 2000 pro with all of the latest DivX codecs, and this is the only one that won't play. When I run it, it comes up with the movie time (1h:42m), the bar at the bottom moves along as though it is being played, yet I have no picture or sound. I thought the file was a bit small for the length of movie when I downloaded it (220,000KB), so I was wondering if it's just a case of finding the right codec. It doesn't work on any other player either... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
