Another user suggested you use the option to "Remember each folders view settings".
However, If your like me, you want explorer to ALWAYS show the details view, -no
matter what. Here's how to do it:
-make sure you have just one explorer window open.
-make it exactly the way you want it (view =>details...)
-pull down the "Tools menu" and choose "Folder Options"
-On the "General" tab, choose "Use Windows Classic Folders"
-On the "View" tab, UN-Choose "Remember each folders view settings" and then click
the button at the top of this tab that says, "Like Current Folder".
-So in effect, you configure the view you want, make sure all folders are treated
the same by explorer, and force all views to keep that config, until you tell it
otherwise. I'm sure there are many people who like to use the option to "Remember
each folders view settings", but I find it frustrating. I like to create a blanket
rule so that it always defaults to the details view.
