.AVI files must be complete in order to be playable. I'm no expert at the terms but
we can call it index. In .AVI files the index of the file are always placed in the
very end of the file and if you haven't gotten the entire file from kazaa or the
one sharing it didn't have the entire clip himself - there's no index and the file
won't work. Other file formats as .MPG are playable no matter size, probably because
the index is placed in the beginning of the file, but if you play an incomplete .mpg
it might say it's 30 minutes long but ends after 4 minutes for instance. But ofcourse
there's a solution for your .AVI problems. 1) Download the entire .AVI file or for
you pornlovers: 2) Download DivXfix, a small tool that lets you strip and/or remove
the index and create a new one. The .AVI file will work, but ofcourse, the part you
never downloaded won't be in it...
