I really doubt mIRC is the program causing this. What I'd do would be to right-click
and exit all silly tools in the systray (lower right corner where the clock is) and
then try to shut down. If it shuts down nicely, one of those autostarting apps are
crap. Find out which one and uninstall it or configure it not to be active all the
time. Another idea could be to have a look in START/PROGRAMS/STARTUP and see what
stupid programs are automatically launched at startup, 90% of them are usually crap
and can be removed w/o problem. What you can do if you're unsure, drag-and-drop the
icons from startup to the desktop, all of them, reboot the computer so they're not
automatically started and then just shut it down - it just might work, and one of
those tools caused the problem. But mIRC causing shutdown problems - naaah, I don't
think so.
