I had a similar problem recently and found that I had a trojan virus. What you need
to do is the following. Hit Ctrl - Alt - Del to bring up the task manager. Start
a new task, click browse and navigate to your System32 directory. In that directory
there may be a file named "explorer.exe". If there is, delete it and reboot. This
should solve your problem. The true explorer.exe file resides in the Winnt directory
and you don't want to delete that file. So, make sure you're in the System32 directory
before deleting the file.
