I've been having some of the same problems (trying to share a Win2000 ADSL connection via PPPoE) but got pointed to www.raspppoe.com by a helpful tech support guy...very very useful (mentioned in earlier posts via a harder to remember URL). it comes with very clear documentation and I actually got my Win2000 ICS working with it after days of messing about....nuff said.
