I have the exact same problem but on Windows XP, and I don't know why this happened
because I wasn't doing anything related to the partitions when my computer crashed.
Anyway, I went in to the recovery console for XP and its chkdsk only has a /p and
a /r, I tried both, didn't fix it, also tried creating a new boot record and a new
mbr record, nothing worked. What I find the weirdest is that I can see (but only
run text files) all the files in their proper partitions in the recovery console,
yet windows itself gives me a blue screen of death when I try to boot-up normally.
Is there any other way I get to a chkdsk with /f or just another method at all?
I'd rather not have to do a fresh format with new partitions :(
