That CTRL-ALT-END didn't work for me. I found a command line command you can use.
At a command prompt, I hope you know to get there by typing cmd.exe in the run box,
type the command "shutdown -s" and hit enter. It will give you a 30 second warning
and the machine will shut down. Worked for me. Later,
