I almost agree 100%, very close. I am having a problem that I could use some help
with. Similar to some of the mentioned configuraitons I am using a software based
router using MS Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Advanced Server really is just Win
2000 with a few extra things for back ground tasks, security, administration, and
multiple users environments. The share is very similar. I have been using the ICS
with SBCs DSL service with 1 DSL server where the internet connection is shared and
3 other machines all running Windows 2000 Pro. Mail can be received but not sent,
it is rejected by the server. Also, web surfing is great and fast until we go to
a secure site that requires a login such as ebay sign in page. The sign works fine
from the DSL server machine but does not work from the other 3 machines that share
the connection. All machines are dhcp and non have static IP addresses. SBC has
been no help at all on the MS software router configuration and I am very discouraged
by them. I have tried to implement the RRAS allow routing on the MS Windows 2000
Server but have not gotten that to work. Using the more basic ICS on the virtual
DSL connection shares the internet connection but not to secure sites. The DSL server
has 2 nic cards, one for the intranet and one for the ADSL modem connection. Would
someone please tell me how to configure the server and other machines to allow secure
web site sign in such as the ebay sign in page.
Thank you,
Kevin
