Try checking the "DNS" entries...in TCP/IP properties. My be u are missing them coz ...these dns entries correspond to the dns server setup by ur isp provider to helpt he browser resloving the site name to ip address. else under Internet explorer 1. tools 2. internet options 3. connections 4. lan settings if ur computer is directly connected to adsl modem then please uncheck all the boxes and click apply.
