CRC Failures & Random Errors Thursday, February 5, 2004 at 9:09 pm Windows 2000 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Billy (3 messages posted) Every file I download (from anywhere, including Windows update) gives at least one CRC error, rendering it useless. I have tried several OS's including windows 98se, XP and 2000 and the errors are all alike. Windows update will never unpack and install correctly. Explorer, and many other background apps shut down. In the events log, it's full of errors related to the COM+ with various error codes. I have ran several tests on my hardware, including ram tests, surface scans on my HD and my next test will be to flash my BIOS. I've done several format+clean installs. It must be something to do with hardware... If anyone has any comments or suggestions, I would really appreciate it, thanks.
