Sounds like you converted from FAT32 to NTFS during the aborted Win2k install. Boot on a Win98 Startup Disk, run FDISK and remove all partitions (non-dos for NTFS), then remove all DOS partitons, then repartition in FAT 32. Then boot to the Win2k cd and run setup leaving the file system, FAT32, as is. Win2k will run just fine and you will retain the ability to make DOS type commands.
