Did win2k come on the machine when you got it.???
If so try this.
See if you have a folder on the HD called I386 ?(i386)
If so check the Prop.on it and see how big the folder is.
If it's about 250mb+ you can try to redrect the  popup to the i386 folder when you 
run sfc /scannow command (this may work but I not tried it out)
Some computer companys put win2k cd files on the machine so you can install printers,drivers,etc...and 
they don't need to give away a win2k cd with the machine..that will get lost anyway...
