The solution proposed in the message is only partial. An application entry may
continue to exist in Add/Remove Programs because another key also needs to be deleted
- that relating to the installer used to install the package.
If this is the case, open the Registry using regedit and go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
and search through the entries for the appropriate product name and delete the key.
PC-cillin 2000 is an example of a product that needs this key to be deleted for its
entry to disappear from Add/Remove Programs.
