I had a new 'puter from Dell and have similar problems where once explorer.exe crashes,
then it will repeatedly crash if I even start it from desktop or Start menu. Most
times, it crashes when I am simply browsing across my network drives or moving files
around.
The only 'solution' I found is to create a shortcut that starts Explorer without
the tree on the left pane. Use properties: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /select,c:\whatever
<- replace with your starting directory.
For whatever reason that seems to minimize crashes. Next tme I have a free weekend
I plan to do a fresh install of Win200 pro.
I'd be curious if anyone else has similar problems or solutions...
