Hi,
I tried this, but it did not solve the problem for me. What I had to do in my case
was delete a file that I had somehow added to my Active Directory.
I went to Display Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web.
There I noticed a weird image file. The only one I needed there was "My Current Home
Page". I checked and deleted the weird image file.
Then I went back to Performance Options (as mentioned in this article), rechecked
the "use drop shadows for icon labels on the destop" checkbox, and shazam, my problem
was fixed.
Hope this helps others too.
Regards,
Somaiah.
