It may be possible to prevent power down when you shutdown windows but the problem
of turning the power off and having the PC come alive when its reenergized can not
be fixed in bios. ( not even if you edit the bios firmware via Hex editor) Being
an ATX computer your power supply is turned on and off by a Softpower circuit on
the Motherboard. This is basically a micro relay system controlled by the momentary
contact of the power switch connected to the "Front Panel Header" therefore with
the power off to the PS the relay deenergizes and can only be reenergized by pushing
the Power Button. The only way to disable the Soft power function is to permanantly
jump the Power On switch contacts on this header, your power switch will no longer
work but your computer will work as you want it to.( off/on by the switch on power
strip)
Caution: If you jump the wrong connections on the FPH you will cause serious damage
to your Motherboard.
