After reading through several forums on this issues, messing w/ the video driver,
color profiles, TweakUI, 'show all possible colors', regedit, etc. the post about
netmeeting is what helped me solve this annoying problem. I realized I had just
configured NetMeeting to 'enable desktop sharing'. What a strange problem, but after
'disabling desktop sharing' and rebooting it worked.....well i should say i had to
uncheck the 'show icons in all available colors' button, apply it, and then recheck
and apply and it worked. THANK GOD! Try this out if you have NetMeeting enabled.
