You may want to give FireFox a try out..
It has under the Opt./Pirvacy Folder to save passwords on the fly and it works...
Put IE on the back burner and be done with it.

Just a Note ****
Most spyware/virus programs are setup to see IE running and hook on to it.
If you run FireFox browser it will help and it comes with a popup blocker and you
can turn off Java/Javscripts with one mouse click, and it's FREE
and you can stop the images from loading up with one click, and that's makes your
browser
run faster (your Internet connection faster) about 2 to 3 times faster..but not downloads..

AVG Will Not Run In Safemode
Work around below

Safe Mode Virus scanner

Trend Micro offers a freeware scanner that will run in Safe Mode. To set it up:
Download: Virus Pattern File, then create a new folder [example] C:\Sysclean
Copy the downloaded file: sysclean.com to the new folder.
Unzip and copy the downloaded pattern file to the new folder.
(There are currently [329] new viruses detected by the pattern file.)

To use: double-click "sysclean.com"
Creates a text file "sysclean.log" when completed.

RegCompact

Consolidate the Registry fragments left from installing and uninstalling programs.
Fragmented space slows down your computer; this utility corrects the problem by writing
the data in the Registry out into a temporary file. The data is written sequentially,
so no holes from deleted data or fragmentation are retained. The utility then reboots
the computer, and the compacted Registry information is replaced when the system
starts up.
