I don't think a lot of emails should be a problem unless your disk is full.
Do you have a USB connected modem?
XP is crashing and re-booting. You can disable the auto-reboot and therefore see
the blue screen of death. It might show something that would give someone a clue.
You can also try looking at the Event Log.
To stop the automatic re-boot, do this: Right click on My Computer. Click Properties
> Advanced > Startup and Recovery SETTINGS. Uncheck the box for Automatically restart.
To view the event log: Right click on My Computer. Click Manage > System Tools >
Event Viewer > System.
If you do have a USB modem you might try getting a newer driver from the manufacturer,
or just get a different modem.
