Hi All.
I am using a ACPI compliant W2K system and when my potential user hits the power
button a quick and effective emergency shutdown is initiated (as detailed in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;297150)
. Now every 10 or so reboots, a PCI plug and play card is not recognised by the
system and the Add New Hardware wizard automatically starts. When the PC is shutdown
the PCI card is being used and the driver is ticking along nicely. So....
Can I
1) Disable the Emergency shutdown functionality of W2K so that it defaults to the
normal shutdown procedure.
2) Force the system to recognise that at PCI slot whatever the card really is the
card that I know is in there and driver X should be used.
3)Find some other way to overcome this issue.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Adam.
