Some machines can take on the Upgrade from win98 to win2k and some can't...most can't
with out many errors poping up at reboot..
But now you know that and you have a running copy of win2k you will need to REINSTALL
the programs you had on the win98 OS...b/4 they will run in the win2k OS.
Your data is still good and you can move it over to the new install of win2k after
you have reinstall the base program(s)
You can also use a small program sold by PC World for 5.95cents that will move programs
(folders & files) over to the new OS and it will update the reg file so they will
run again..
I don't have the link on this machine for it but if you want the link repost and
I will find it for you...
Note****I have not used it but others on this forum have and said it works great
(called COA2 I think but I will need to look it up to be sure )
After you have all you want from the win98 and the 1st copy of win2k you can remove
it from the machine to free up the space.
Good Luck
