Hi all, I recently received a stripped down compaq deskpro en cpu and compaq s710 monitor from a friend. I have loaded windows 2000, but my monitor is only showing the option for 16 colors. while it is a nice psychedelic look, i would love to see 256 colors. in Device Manager I have 2 Items which are addressed under the "Other" section. These two are namely : 1) Multimedia Audio Controller, and 2) Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Both of these items have a Yellow Exclamat!on mark beside them. When I go to their properties it says that they are not installed. I do not have these Installation files and i've tried to look for drivers at the compaq/hp website, and i havent found anything that works. i dont know if i need specific hardware, drivers, or what. Is there anyone that could provide some help/insight into this problem? Thanks so much!
