You may want to put your post in the XP Forum just to start with..
Do you have a mate that can give you a hand with the install of XP and at this point 
the recovery of XP.
Laptops can be a real pain if things go bad like in your case.
It will now take a bit of work to get it up and running and save your files from 
the NT4 OS...
