Try this
Run Word at the top select Insert/select Date and Time then select the one you want 
to use for the Default, then hit the  Default button ,Word will ask you, if that's 
the one you want to use, hit the Yes button.
IF you don't see the one you want
Goto The Control Panel/Regional Opt./Date and Time Folders and set it up for both.
Use the Long format for the Date
