The way that worked for me was to use my "Webroot Spysweeper" program, that features
a selection that enables the user to disable any startup program that you desire.
Spysweeper is meant to stop adware and spyware that also runs on startup, similar
to quicktime, and that's why it works. It costs a bit of money but it's well worth
it!
