When using a CROSSOVER cable not a standard cat5 cable, one of the machines must
be set as the Host and one must be set as the Guest.
The norm is a (PP) LPT1 cable,it's like a printer cable but made into a crossover
cable.
Run the connection wizard on both machines.
Start/Programs/Acc./Comm./Con.Wizard
NOTE** You can used stardard cat5 cable if you make a small Apt.to switch the lines
over to a TP crossover type.
NOTE*** when you are using two Laptops you can use the Infrared Ports without cables, most
of the Laptops now days have Infrared ports built in (draw back, line of site)
The easy and the best way, use a router box, cheap now days, for about 25 bucks or
less and cat5 cables...
The box will do just about all the work for you.
