With the second computer ipconfig doesn't give any IP while connected with the crossover cable, as it doesn't recognize the cable at all. I have assumed that the address is the same as with internet communication? And no, the machines can't ping each other. The second computer is sharing its main directories, but I'm not sure about the first one. The first one doesn't show "Sharing" tab in the properties window of a directory, so does it mean that the computer isn't sharing at all, or what?
