When you go to Network and Dial-up Connections there should be an icon that looks
something like an upside down "T" called "Local Area Connection". (depending on how
your View is set for your Files, in my case Details) to the right of that, under
status should state Enabled. If not or you don't see the details just right click
on Local Area Connetion and at the top of the drop down box is either Enable or Disable.
If all that doesn't work you might running Make New Connection again.
