Thanks for the replies. I've certainly a few options. I'm also looking into getting
an Ultrabay (or whatever it is called for this model) 2nd HD adapter, a second hard
drive, and 'ghosting' onto the 2nd HD.
Without opening a can of worms - I think its ridiculous for sytems to come with 'OEM'
operating systems which do not provide for an easy method of restoring in the case
of a hard drive failure. A few bad sectors in the wrong place and bye-bye OS.
IBM provided them up until 7/31/2005. I've written them, asking for help and they
redirected me to Lenovo - which is a dead end and completely useless. If my experience
with Lenovo is any indication, they will fail miserably in the next couple of years.
I want to confirm though - everyone is suggesting I upgrade to SP4, then install
the MS applications, then upgrade the MS applications - right?
And then, would I want to apply SP4 again?
Or will W2KPro SP4 'protect' itself from inappropriate file 'overlays' from the MS
office app updates?
Any additional thoughts/plans appreciated!
Thanks all!
