"I do have a SCSI Zip drive " = you may want to pull it out and then try it.
Legecy (old) hardware can hold win2k back a bit at boot.
( yours) = default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT
is this in the path ??? "" /fastdetect ""
also why do you have win2k on the 3rd.partition (E:) ?
are you running other OS also ? other than win98se
Is win98se holding the 1st partition ?
The one I have on this machine below
[boot loader]
timeout=2
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Recovery Console" /cmdcons
