Provided you are in the US, you can grab the AC713 driver (.inf and .icm) from
Acer PanAmerica.
You will download a SFX zip file "ac713_driver.exe". - Unzip
the contents to any directory, e.g., C:\Temp, with WinZip, 7-Zip, etc. Do not execute
the SFX.
- At a command prompt, type "compmgmt.msc" and hit Enter
- From
the Computer Management module, open System Tools (if necessary) and click Device
Manager
- You should have a Monitors entry that lists either something like
"Plug and Play Monitor" or "Default Monitor". If you do not have either of these
entries, try running the Add/Remove Hardware wizard and let it scan your hardware.
It should find *some* monitor.
- Double click (or right click and Properties)
- Click
the Driver tab
- Click the "Update Driver..." button
- In the Upgrade
Device Driver Wizard, click Next
- Click "Display a list of known drivers for
this device so that I can choose a specific driver." and click Next
- Click
the "Have Disk..." button
- From the "Install from Disk" dialog, select the
directory to which you extracted the ac713_driver.exe and click OK
- Select
AC713 and click Next
- Click Next
- Click Yes at the "Digital Signature
Not Found" dialog
- Click Finish
Should be it.
Hope this helps,
